Welcome to the Alem Hamza Website

Khairho and Cheryl at WantageAlem Hamza Arabians, owned by Cheryl and Keith Logan, is a small stud that has been breeding performance Arabians and Anglo Arabs for over 30 years, 15 of which specifically for Endurance Racing. Moving to Longfield Farm in July 2000, the Stud now enjoys greatly expanded facilities in picturesque countryside on the Somerset / Wiltshire border, together with easy access to the A303.

The Stud has concentrated on old English bloodlines to the original Crabbett imports. It has been dedicated to producing stock to the breed standard, retaining all the essential conformation, such as sound limbs and straight, ground-covering action, in essence, all attributes necessary for the endurance horse of today and tomorrow.

ZourrakA large percentage of the horses belonging to the Stud trace to the same tail female line, one that has produced top endurance horses since the sport’s inception. Any outside stallions are chosen, not only to complement the mare’s conformation type and bloodlines, but also for their performance attributes.

The foundation stallion for the Stud was Zourrak (1966 – 1997) (Iridos – Zellah). He won in hand, under saddle, at combined training and show jumping before taking up endurance at 18! He was only beaten for the EHPS National Veteran Trophy by his first foal, Leslie Caswell’s Royal Lord. He sired many successful endurance horses, passing on his superb type, temperament and attitude.
